About This Site

CA Handgun Roster is a free, community-driven reference that makes it easy to browse, search, and explore the California Department of Justice's list of certified handguns.

Our Mission

California maintains one of the most restrictive handgun rosters in the country. Finding out which handguns are legal to purchase can be confusing and time-consuming on the official DOJ website. We built this site to make that process easier.

Our goal is to provide a fast, modern, and user-friendly interface for California residents, gun shop owners, and firearms enthusiasts to quickly look up roster-certified handguns by manufacturer, model, caliber, and type.

All firearm data on this site is sourced from the California DOJ Certified Handguns database. We periodically update our records to reflect the latest roster status.
